AGA Technical Information
For your AGA cooker to be properly installed, the following technical details should be met. These specifications, if not achieved means that the unit will be delivered but will not be installed.
Present chimney: If your AGA uses solid fuel, oil or gas, it is fundamental for the residence to have a chimney flue aligned with a flexible five-inch flue liner. Residences with a prefabricated flue are required to install a five-inch double-insulated liner on it. While the flue may exit your unit either vertically or horizontally, it is necessary for its centre to be 18 3/8 inches from the right edge of the cooker and 2.5 inches from the rear. Additionally, a vedette cowl is strongly recommended.
Ventilation: Where the appliance is to be set, an accompanying air vent with a minimum of 10 square centimetres should be present.
Fuel: A minimum of 18-inch diameter fuel tank outlet and level-differential cooker should be present. The regulating control valve needs to be precisely four inches wide and can be situated five feet away on any either sides of the tank. The connecting feed pipe should be 10mm in diameter. This is aimed at aiding its use with 28-second heating oil. When our team gets there, the oil supply must be ready to turn on, and the (65-degree KBB) acting fire valve should be located on the exterior of the building where the oil line is found. A sensor should also be near the cooker. In line with current regulations, a remote should also be installed to secure the supply lines of the oil.
Hot Water: A connection to an indirect gravity flow system should be put in place if the AGA is also running the hot water system. The water pipes may exit from either side of the cooker and should have a minimum of 28mm diameter. To maintain the heat efficiency, this hot water tanks should be situated only 18 feet away. The flow and return pipe measurements are indicated on the application.
Plinth: It is essential that for the cookers to be placed on a flat level surface that is designed with non-combustible material. A 26-inch standard plinth depth is recommended. Nonetheless, having a deluxe model positioned only means that there is an increased depth to 27 inches. For the deluxe double oven and four-oven unit, the recommended plinth width needs to be 38 7/8 inches and 58 5/8 inches respectively. The height of the plinth is not a compulsory dimension.
