AGA Information Guide
This AGA information guide will help you to find out all you need to know when purchasing an AGA cooker. At Country Cookers Cornwall we stock a large range of AGA cookers with a range of fuel choices, including solid fuel, oil, and 13 amp electric.
We carry the three main style of cookers; which are the AGA standard, AGA pre 74 deluxe and the AGA post 74 deluxe. Each of these can be customised by fuel type, cooking only or cooking and domestic hot water.
After you place your order, we will begin stripping one of our on-site cookers immediately. Every part that will not be used is taken to be melted down and recycled. Everything that will require a new coat of enamel, such as the front, doors, and tops; are sent to the enamellers to be coated with the colour of your choosing. Afterwards, new versions of the removed and recycled parts will be ordered.
Each oven and the base is then sandblasted in and out to rid them of scaling, rust, and cooking fat. We will machine level the boiling and simmering plate to make sure it is level and has good contact with pots and pans.
After the enamellers send the cooker back to us, we will build the up the shell of the AGA to ensure that everything fits inside properly. After the delivery details have been decided, your cooker is delivered in separated parts and assembled on-site. The installation can be done on the same day as the assembly as long as the chimney and oil line are both situated properly.
Did you know?
The man responsible for the creation of the AGA is Dr Gustaf Dalen, who built this amazing device to assist his wife after one of his earlier experiments blinded him in one eye and left him unable to help out around their home. He decided to create a cooker that could help her with every aspect of cooking and provide constant heat throughout their home. The AGA even helped to wash, dry, and press their laundry.
The amazing thing about the AGA is that it will help your food contain it's moisture without turning it soggy. The odours are collected through the flue pipe, allowing you to cook both savoury and sweet foods at the same time without contamination.
If you need assistance in getting the most out of your cooker, then there are many books available that can help.
Even though the AGA was designed and completed in 1922, the aesthetics haven't had any significant updates. That charming 20s design has endured throughout the years, and there are no seeming intentions to change it anytime soon. As the saying goes, "If it isn't broken, then why fix it?". When looking at an AGA cooker, you'll find that no truer words have been spoken.
